I’m Annie

A country girl who grew up in Bendigo, Victoria, I knew from a young age, I was different to my siblings, I knew I wanted more, I knew I wanted to live my life on my terms and really make an impact in the world.
I had no idea how that journey was going to pan out.
From age 14, I started in the hair & beauty industry. I went from apprentice to senior stylist, to a home salon… then my world fell apart after a long-term relationship breakdown and I decided to pack up my life and move to Gippsland. Going back to work for someone was definitely not option, so I decided to go commercial, how hard could it be?
I built it from the ground up, I did letter box drops, I worked crazy hours, I hired staff thinking that would make my life easier but it made it more stressful. It ended up getting to the stage, where there just wasn’t enough money coming in, to keep my doors open. My partner at the time, was funding my salon just to keep the doors open.
Absolutely devastated, my dream of being a salon owner felt like it was over! I was tired, I had no idea how to take the salon to the next level.
That's where I met Emma, a business mentor. After talking to her, she had experienced all the troubles I had and found there was an easier way to make it in our industry, I was keen to learn all I could. I relocated the salon, and implemented everything my mentor suggested, & the results were phenomenal. I added an extra $3000 in first week! With NO staff! My profit Increased by $95K in just 12 months!
Once I learnt how to run a business a properly, I put all the systems in place so I could work less on the floor, hire the right staff and turn over more money!
There are so many salon owners out there struggling, not knowing how to improve their situation. I knew this was the next stage of my journey to rise up & continue to make an impact. After 10 years, I had completed the dream of being a successful salon owner. This realisation showed me it was time for the salon to become someone else’s success story, I sold the salon to a young woman who had no experience in the industry. She didn’t need to, because I had built that salon so it could operate effectively and efficiently with the right staff. Selling the salon gave me more time to be able to impact other salon owners and show them how to do things easier & faster in this industry.
